FFX: Becoming a Summoner

Description

Unfortunately, I had gone back to my hotel room to eat/drop off my staff for a few hours, so you don't get to see my last-minute prop work. I also learned, just now, that I put my contacts in the wrong eyes. You can't see them too much anyway, but it's bugging me so much D:<

Shirt and sleeves are a semi-sheer linen, I chose them for the more woven look instead of a standard cotton. The sleeves were gradient dyed with RIT dye in petal pink. The straps are white bias tape and the ribbon is some sort of silk rope(?) with handmade beads (sculpey).

I think the obi is a satin, but I didn't like the finish (too shiny), so the part everyone can see is actually the wrong side of the fabric. Everything is hand-painted, the hibiscus is made from craft foam, and the beads are all handmade.
The necklace and bracelets are all handmade as well. The necklace is made from sculpey, and the bracelets are just beads I bought from Micheals.

The skirt is a standard navy blue cotton (possible poly-cotton), and I found references about the different types of pleats that Yuna's skirt uses. I painted the flowers on with a fabric-paint-pen (white), and decided against going over the design with pink/green because I didn't want it to look too heavy.

The wig is an Alicia in color 14, but it was too blonde, so I dyed it with dark brown FW inks and rubbing alcohol.

I had a lot of fun wearing this cosplay, it's been a dream of mine since I was in middle school, and I decided to actually make this once I was the same age as Yuna in FFX (wooo, 17). The other people at Fanime 2011, coughthemalepopulationcough, seemed to like it, so I'm proud.
